Oil Spill in Gulf…

The oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico has been going for quite a long time.  I remember sitting in class the day that my teacher told me about the spill, many months later the oil is still pouring into the ocean. On CNN’s website it has a tracker that shows how many barrels of oil are being poured into the ocean. The number this second is 3,489,055.. but each second it rises.

Some may keep saying.. Drill baby drill, but when you see what the oil is doing to our economy and the wildlife.. your thoughts can be changed. Finding new sources of energy for our cars and other things that need oil is the answer.

The main thing that we need and use is destroying us! The oil spill is no good.

Do something about it.

Pools of water: Tip of the day

I went swimming today.

Swimming at the old “YMCA” reminds me of the good ole days. I saw all the little day camp kids running around and having fun, it was all I could do to restrain myself from joining them! I realized also that I have a new fear, I am terrified of wasps! Yes, I said it… WASPS*!!! (Can’t you just hear the “Jaws” music playing in the background??)

I feel like Wasps are out to get me, they always happen to be buzzing near my chair and well, I don’t enjoy to much. So, here’s a tip for you when going out to swim…

Bring a big can of Wasp Killer!!!

BLOcK BuSTer: Karate Kid

Yes, another movie review. I saw the new Karate Kid a few days ago, and I must say.. it’s a million times better than the classic. Of course I’m a bigger fan of Jackie Chan than Mr. Miyagi..so that could sway my vote. I think you should see it for yourself. Of course you shouldn’t go spend your money on a movie that I told you to see.. watch the trailer!

Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith ( Will Smith’s son) acted quite well if you ask me! I’ve heard many people say Jaden is a clone of his father Will, and I seriously couldn’t agree more! Go see the movie!! 😀

BLOcK BuSTer: Prince of Persia

I recently saw an amazing movie! Prince of Persia: the Sands of time is a must see. For me, I had to really lock in..one: because the movie has so many action scenes.. and two: my dear, dear friends decided to ask questions during the most intense parts. Though the movie is based off of a video game, it is swell to watch and I enjoyed it!

Now.. ladies this movie isn’t only for the guys, their is a little bit of romance (love/hate relationship) between the two main characters. (In the picture below) Of course the only picture that I could find on google of these two people, is one where they are in action. But I suppose this pic gives you a hint of what will happen!

So, you need to see it. I didn’t want to spoil anything.. but if you do see it, tell me what you think!!! 🙂

Baby squasher…I mean sitter?

I’m not much of a tech lover like Ben, but something caught my eye today.. and I need to share it!  I was babysitting the cutest kids today and both of the oldest boys had Nintendo DSI’s.

Now, the boys Nintendo DSi’s weren’t as cute as the one in the picture above.. but still, they have the same look 🙂

The crazy thing about this little gameboy, is that you can chat with other players, take pictures, get online, check your email (but what five year old has an email??)  It’s just down right awesome. I know.. I know, it doesn’t seem like a big deal.. but look how far Nintendo has come.. from the classic entertainment system to a hand held game-boy.. (with all the high techy stuff!)

I love music.  I mainly like music that fits my mood (happy, chill, wild, tired, etc.)  The Raconteurs are the best band that I’ve ever heard. Yes, I know their photo cover is a little scary; but you can’t judge a book by its cover.

I let one of my teachers listen to them (during class, might I add) and she said that they reminded her of a ’60’s band. One of my favorite songs by them is “Broken Solider Boy”.  The music video that goes along with this song is a little strange.. but it shows their freaky side.
